The operational existence of an organization must be validated before an EV certificate can be issued.
Operational existence may be verified automatically if the organization is legally registered and operational for at least 3 years. Organizations less than 3 years old may require additional documentation.
If Sectigo requires additional documentation to validate operational existence, these are some options:

Countries outside the EU – Provide a letter signed by your bank representative confirming the organization has an active demand deposit account.
Note: Sectigo must be able to verify the signer of the letter, and not all banks will provide this type of letter due to privacy laws. - Worldwide – Provide a letter from a licensed professional attorney, civil law attorney, or certified public accountant attesting to your operational existence.
To provide supporting documentation about the Operational Existence of your organization:
- From your Order Confirmation email or correspondence from Sectigo Validation, click Validation Manager
- Click Submit a Ticket
- Choose EV Validation as the Reason for the ticket.
- Provide the Order Number if possible, to help us resolve the issue faster.
- Use the Description field to request the change to the certificate order and provide the legally registered organization name.
Note: Consider registering your organization (including legally registered name, physical address, and telephone number) with a reputable, third-party, independent source, such as one of the following:
- Local or national registration agency
- Commercial credit services organization (for example, Dunn & Bradstreet)
- Accredited business database (for example, Better Business Bureau)
- Local phone directory

- If a Sample Letter is used to verify the operational existence of your organization you may upload it directly to your order via Validation Manager.
- From your Order Confirmation email or correspondence from Sectigo Validation. click
- Expand Organization Validation
- Next to Operational Existence, click Upload Document
- Thank you for your upload, Sectigo Validation will now review and process the document
- Once processed, verified, and accepted, the Operational Existence will reflect a green checkmark
